I need some advice to make up my mind guys, so please be honest and hit me with some opinions. I’m really into this rat-look think and maybe I will go for this rusty thing. A have a few issue

1 Can I stop the process once it has started rusting or it will go deeper and deeper and make a hole in the metal?
2 Can I fail the MOT because of the rust?

I want to do something similar to this:

Shall I go for it?

Why do people do it. Forget what anyone says to you, once you have rust the only way to get rid is cut it out. If you want to start cutting your roof off down the line go for it

thats a fair comment mate, the only time to do it in my opinion is if the cars heading for the scrap yard in the near future. if you do it to a nice car you will only regret it.

God knows why people do it? Surely with that kind of rust you would see a year at best before the roof and panels start caving in

tbh i think if you sand the panel down to metal, spray with water until the rust has set in for a few days, so it's only light, clean the panel then laquer it, surely that would then stop any further rusting?

Who thought of starting this as a thing to do on purpose? I mean it looks like a car that'll be found in a trailer park in america. I spose once you get it to that stage you won't give a crap what happens to it as in if it gets keyed or whatever, that's the only good point of it... That I can see anyways lol

i still say get a shitter punto or corsa and do it on that but in my honest opinion looks shite on jap cars, let the french things rust away and keep the japs looking good!

Started in america, california, bleached paint, old cars, rat rods which then equalled cool!

I was gonna rust my bonnet because it was a state already, I didn't though because I then got a spare one. Don't rat to go with the crowd cos its on its way out if anything, definitely the sort of thing you do if you feel.

Thought I'd find it somewhere, this should help you decide ;) How to on there as well

The picture I posted as an example might be inappropriate as I want to rust interchangeable parts only bonnet, boot maybe doors…. And I would go for it because is something that I like don’t wanna be part of a trend
